Rick Schmidt is a professional multi-instrumentalist who plays pedal and non-pedal steel guitar, acoustic and electric guitar, midi guitar, bass, keys, and vocals. Rick has performed all over the world, both on stage and in studio with artists such as: Shania Twain, Junior Brown, Scott Weiland, Albert Lee, Big Mama Thornton and Christopher Cross just to name a few! He played in the house orchestra for the new Broadway Musical, “Hands on a Hardbody” with Trey Anistasio (of “Phish” fame) at the La Jolla Performing Arts Center. 

As a member of the LA Steel Choir, Rick worked under legendary composer Hans Zimmer on the soundtrack for the Superman movie “Man of Steel”.
